New FIA energy limits aim to unleash faster qualifying at Suzuka
The FIA has reduced the energy allocation for qualifying laps at the Japanese Grand Prix to encourage drivers to push harder and avoid excessive energy saving. The adjustment follows concerns that previous limits led to overly managed laps. Teams supported the change, which is intended as a short-term solution while further refinements to Formula 1’s energy management rules are considered.
