Europe heatwave 'virtually impossible' without climate change
Scientists say the current heatwave across Europe would have been virtually impossible 50 years ago, with climate change making it more likely and intense. The World Weather Attribution group found that daytime peaks are about 10 times more likely now, and overnight temperatures are about 100 times more likely than in 2003. This record-breaking heat is unequivocally driven by climate change, according to researchers.
