An 80-year-old found dead after failed to re-board the cruise after an island hiking excursion.

An 80-year-old woman who disembarked from the 120-passenger expedition ship Coral Adventurer on Lizard Island failed to re-board after a hiking excursion on 25 October. Her body was located the following morning, and the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) confirmed the death is “sudden and non-suspicious”. Authorities are examining how she was not accounted for during boarding and why the alarm was raised hours after the ship’s departure
