Psychology professor links soulmates to medieval knight stories
Professor Viren Swami states that the modern idea of choosing a lifelong partner stems from European tales regarding Camelot. Prior to these stories, the expert notes that affection was fluid and people could love multiple individuals. Swami argues that industrialisation later isolated citizens, leading them to seek salvation through a single companion. He describes using dating algorithms today as a soulless experience of "relation-shopping".
