M&S chair says taxes slow business investment
Higher business costs could limit company spending and staff pay. Speaking at M&S's annual general meeting on Tuesday, chairman Archie Norman said tax, regulation and employment expenses were making investment harder, while chief executive Stuart Machin said the retailer faced £150m in extra taxes this year. Food packaging charges alone cost £14m last year.
