Polanski cleared in council tax row, Tories furious
Green Party leader Zack Polanski was cleared by a London Assembly probe over his unpaid council tax, sparking anger from Conservatives. The investigation concluded his personal tax affairs did not fall under his official capacity as an Assembly Member, so the code didn't apply. Tory Assembly Member Neil Garratt called his attitude "cavalier" and said he avoided consequences through "gaps in legislation".
