London's Churchill statue covered after 'war criminal' slogans
The bronze memorial to Sir Winston Churchill in London’s Parliament Square was vandalised overnight with pro-Palestine slogans. Heritage wardens moved to cover the plinth with black plastic after phrases including "war criminal" and "stop the genocide" were discovered painted on the monument. The statue, situated near the Houses of Parliament, was originally unveiled in 1973 and is monitored by the Greater London Authority.
