Catherine Wieland, 33, from West Sussex falsely claimed severe anxiety left her housebound to fraudulently obtain £23,662 in Personal Independence Payments between 2021 and 2024. Evidence showed her ziplining and surfing in Mexico, visiting Thorpe Park three times, and making 76 beauty appointments. She was sentenced to 28 weeks in custody, suspended for 18 months.
