Brits spend £163m extra on heatwave essentials
Brits are shelling out an extra £163 million this summer, essentially a "summer tax" because of last-minute heatwave and holiday buys. A poll of 2,000 adults showed that 31% spent, on average, roughly £9.82 for the rapid delivery of key items like fans and sun cream. This is on top of around £25.16 more spent on spontaneous warm-weather purchases, with over half noticing prices rise.
