Halifax bank to leave UK high streets after 173 years

Bank customers won't lose branches, and existing account details will stay the same during the change. Lloyds Banking Group said it will stop opening new Halifax accounts, begin moving customers to Lloyds branding, and remove Halifax signs from 190 of its 531 branches from early 2027. Bank of Scotland will continue in Scotland.
