444,000 UK fraud cases linked to AI last year
Individuals face losing control of their identities and becoming liable for debts as criminals use AI to seize personal accounts. CIFAS recorded these fraud cases across the UK last year, noting they were driven by artificial intelligence. Chief executive Mike Haley stated AI makes criminal deception more complex and difficult to find.
