Man, 34, dies in M6 van and crane truck crash near Crewe

A 34-year-old man from Manchester was pronounced dead at the scene following a serious collision between a white Renault van and a crane truck on the M6 northbound carriageway near Crewe on Tuesday evening. The crash occurred at approximately 7.47pm between junctions 16 and 17. The van's driver, a 30-year-old man also from Manchester, was taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital with serious injuries. Cheshire Police closed the carriageway and are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage.
