Massive 100-Tonne Fatberg Discovered in East London Sewer Sparks Christmas Warning
A huge blockage has been located by Thames Water in east London. The congealed mass, weighing 100 tonnes and stretching 100 metres, is in Whitechapel's sewer system. It consists of fat, oil, grease, and unflushable items. Dubbed the 'grandchild' of the 2017 Whitechapel fatberg (130 tonnes), its removal could take weeks. Authorities have issued a warning to households to avoid pouring fats down drains this Christmas.
