Taiwan: $14B US weapons vital, despite Trump's indecision
Tension over Taiwan’s security has grown after Donald Trump said he had not decided on another American weapons package for the island. Taiwan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Chen Ming-chi said on Saturday that US military sales remain vital for peace and stability across the region. Reuters previously reported a second package worth about $14 billion is still awaiting Trump’s approval.
