Man who stabbed British Army officer outside barracks given hospital order
Anthony Esan, 25, has been sentenced after repeatedly stabbing Lieutenant Colonel Mark Teeton near army barracks in Chatham, Kent, in July 2024. The court heard Esan had searched online for information about the murder of soldier Lee Rigby before the attack. He was handed a life sentence with a minimum term of over seven years and is expected to remain in secure hospital care, with the judge saying he is unlikely to be released into the community.
