London Tube hits 39.4C; 60% trains lack AC.
London Underground carriages reached almost 40C on Wednesday, making commutes "hellish" for passengers during the record-breaking June heatwave. The Central line, one of the busiest, saw temperatures of 39.4C, while air-conditioned lines were around 22C. Only about 40% of Tube trains currently have air conditioning, causing discomfort for many.
