Hong Kong firms help move Iran money
Sanctions efforts may weaken as funds continue flowing through hidden networks. Hong Kong has become a key hub helping Iran move money and buy restricted goods using front companies, despite US measures to block such activity, according to a Wall Street Journal report. US officials traced about $4.8 billion in transactions in 2024 linked to suspected Iranian shadow banking operations.
