Prostate screening: A surprising parallel to breast cancer checks

Over 12,000 UK men die from prostate cancer each year, a figure slightly higher than breast cancer deaths. A German Cancer Research Centre study, led by Dr Sigrid Carlsson, found prostate screening is as effective as routine breast checks. The research analysed 39,000 men's PSA blood tests and MRI scans, comparing them to 2.8 million women's mammograms.
