UK train Wi-Fi is among Europe's slowest

The notoriously sluggish Wi-Fi on British trains often impedes commuters' ability to work efficiently. According to an Ookla report from 2025, the UK's train Wi-Fi speeds ranked 16th among 18 significant European and Asian nations. With an average of merely 1.09 Mbps, the Wi-Fi speeds in Britain are substantially lower than Sweden's 64.58 Mbps.
