BBC News plans hundreds of staff cuts
Viewers and listeners could notice changes as planned staff reductions affect news output across television, radio, apps, websites and regional services. Next week, the BBC is expected to set out redundancy plans for its news operation as part of a wider effort to lower spending before funding discussions with ministers. Around 2,000 roles may go across the organisation, while departments have been asked to reduce costs by about 10 per cent.
