Pound Climbs as Market Mood Gets Better
Better confidence in financial markets gave the British currency support against major rivals. On Tuesday, sterling gained against both the U.S. dollar and the euro as hopes for a Middle East peace agreement reduced demand for safer assets and encouraged investors to take on more risk. It traded at $1.3385, up 0.36%, after touching $1.33065 on Monday, its weakest level since May 18.
