Burnham won't pay Waspi women compensation
Andy Burnham has reversed his earlier stance, saying he won't pay financial compensation to the 3.6 million Waspi women. The Labour leadership hopeful had previously backed payments, but a spokeswoman confirmed on Thursday he now considers the case closed after a backlash. He is, however, open to other benefits for the women, such as subsidised transport.
