UK launches 8-country coalition against global violence.

Women and girls worldwide will gain better protection from violence and abuse through a new international effort. Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper launched this coalition, bringing together eight countries to prevent domestic and sexual violence. The United Kingdom, South Africa, Brazil, Morocco, Spain, Jamaica, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Australia were the original member states.
