Barclays faces a High Court lawsuit over its former chief's Jeffrey Epstein ties

Shareholders claim they lost roughly £2bn when the banking giant's share price dropped following revelations about former chief Jes Staley. Litigation group Woodsford argues Barclays hid the true depth of Staley's relationship with the disgraced financier between 2015 and 2021. The executive was fined £1.1m and given a lifetime City ban in 2023 for misleading the bank about the friendship.
