7-Eleven founder Toshifumi Suzuki dies at 93
Toshifumi Suzuki, the individual widely acknowledged for establishing Japan's pervasive convenience store culture, has died. Seven & i Holdings announced on Monday that Suzuki, who established 7-Eleven Japan, died from heart failure on May 18. He passed away at 93, having also played a key role in the bailout of the US 7-Eleven operator in the 1990s.
