Russian gas flowing to Europe rose 22% in March
The effective closure of the Strait of Hormuz due to the Iran war has pushed Europe to rely more heavily on Russian pipeline gas. Total Russian gas supplies to Europe in March via the TurkStream pipeline, now the only remaining route, reached 1.7 billion cubic metres. This marks a 22% rise from March 2025, with exports for the first three months of 2026 up 11% overall.
