Standard Chartered cutting 8,000 jobs with AI
People working in banking support roles face job losses as financial companies increasingly adopt new technology. UK lender Standard Chartered plans to remove thousands of back office and corporate function positions. This move is projected to cut between 7,000 and 8,000 jobs, representing more than 15% of these roles, by 2030, driven by the adoption of artificial intelligence.
