Care worker visa wait could triple to 15 years

Thousands of care workers already in the UK could see their wait for permanent settlement triple, sparking criticism from Angela Rayner. Angela Rayner, the former Deputy Prime Minister, said on Wednesday it's 'un-British' to change rules for people who've made a life here. The government intends to extend the settlement route, effectively doubling its current five-year span to a full decade; however, Rayner is concerned it might ultimately reach 15 years.
