Armed police, facial recognition at British GP
Rigorous policing is planned for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone next month, with huge crowds expected. Northamptonshire Police, the local force, will deploy specialist teams, including armed officers and live facial recognition units, from 2-5 July. Over 500,000 people visited the circuit over four days in 2025, and tickets are still on sale.
