Facebook worker downloaded 30,000 private photos
Thousands of Facebook users in the UK had their private images accessed without permission by a former employee. A Meta engineer, based in London, is under criminal investigation by the Metropolitan Police for allegedly designing a program to download approximately 30,000 personal photos while bypassing security checks. Meta discovered the breach over a year ago, subsequently terminated the individual, notified affected users, and upgraded its security systems.
