Hillsborough Law passes Parliament with no intelligence service exemption

The Hillsborough Law, imposing a duty of truthfulness on public officials, is expected to receive parliamentary approval from MPs next week. Downing Street withdrew the bill in January due to disagreements over intelligence service exemptions. A new amendment means there will be no exemptions, with legislation enacted by autumn.
