Essex valley becoming major English wine region
English wines claimed 25 gold medals at this week's International Wine Challenge, more than ever before. Wine experts have identified the Crouch Valley region in Essex as a promising viticultural area, now home to nearly 30 active growers. New Hall Wine Estate produces 250,000 bottles annually from vines first planted in 1969.
