Trump launches Project Freedom to escort Hormuz ships today

The US is launching an effort today to guide stranded ships out of the Iran-blocked Strait of Hormuz. Donald Trump announced Project Freedom on Sunday, calling it a humanitarian gesture to help around 20,000 seafarers and hundreds of vessels stuck for weeks. Tehran has effectively closed the strait through ship attacks since February, with two more cargo vessels targeted by small craft on Sunday in the latest of two dozen attacks.
