Britain's trains get a new look as 8 in 10 go public.
A fresh red, white, and blue livery is set to appear on trains soon, coinciding with the shift to public ownership for rail services. On May 21, 2026, the first Class 387 train featuring Great British Railways branding was revealed in Brighton. The unveiling precedes Govia Thameslink Railway's integration into the publicly owned network on May 31, after which an estimated 80% of journeys will be public.
