Toy car bomb plotter freed despite expert warnings
A convicted terrorist who planned attacks on army bases was approved for release by the Parole Board, though a new review of that decision has since been ordered, despite expert warnings. Zahid Iqbal received an extended determinate sentence of 16 years and three months in 2013 for plotting to use remote-controlled toy cars with bombs. Zahid Iqbal, who is slated to turn 44 in 2026, had previously been sent back to custody due to issues with his adherence to conditions.
