Bank of England warns 1.3m more households face mortgage hikes
Around 1.3 million more UK households are facing a jump in their mortgage payments by the end of 2028 as a result of the Iran war, the Bank of England said in its April Financial Stability Committee Record. A total of 5.2 million households now face increases in mortgage costs in two and a half years, up from 3.9 million forecast before the conflict. The Bank said any increases would remain 'modest.'
