India's $18 Billion Global Buys Mark a Strategic Shift
Indian companies are increasingly buying foreign firms for strategic and operational reasons, showing a shift in their global approach. In 2025, 162 Indian companies invested upwards of $18 billion in outbound acquisitions, an expenditure volume that expanded by 34% year-over-year. Sun Pharmaceuticals' $11.75 billion purchase of Organon & Co. in late April was the biggest such deal in nearly two decades.
