Why 2% could transform UK workplace power.
Changes to UK employment law taking effect in April will allow trade unions to gain workplace recognition with the backing of just 2% of staff, down from 10% previously. Legal experts expect the reform to result in a significant increase in new unions and greater workplace organising activity across the country. The changes form part of the government's wider employment rights reforms.
