Private scan clinics fail to spot pregnancy risks
UK regulators report that almost one in three private baby scan providers do not comply with care standards. The Society of Radiographers highlights incidents where women were wrongly told they had lost their baby or advised to end pregnancies that were healthy. Some private clinics, which may employ unqualified staff, have failed to identify serious conditions such as ectopic pregnancies and spina bifida, raising safety concerns for expectant mothers.
