100 Billion Roubles Pledged to Russia's Budget
Russia's finances require stabilisation due to rising defence spending from its five-year war in Ukraine, affecting energy revenues and tax income. President Vladimir Putin asked leading businessmen in a closed-door meeting on Thursday to donate funds to the country's budget. Billionaire Suleiman Kerimov pledged 100 billion roubles (£922m), with 2025 defence costs projected to reach 15.5 trillion roubles.
