Russia China veto UN vote on Hormuz
Global energy supply risks remain as a key shipping route stays restricted. Russia and China blocked a United Nations Security Council resolution aimed at reopening the Strait of Hormuz during a vote on Tuesday, despite most members backing it. The result was 11 in favour, two against and two abstentions, shortly before a two-week ceasefire was agreed between the United States and Iran.
