Putney gym struggles to survive after TfL property firm hikes rent again
Physical Culture, one of the UK's oldest powerlifting gyms, is battling for survival as Places for London, Transport for London's property arm, seeks another rent increase. The gym, which opened in 1928, saw its rent jump from £26,500 to £41,500 after the pandemic and now faces another rise from November. Places for London says it aims to provide high-quality spaces at a reasonable market rate and is working with the gym to ensure its viability.
