Over 100,000 lose power as France bakes

Record-breaking heat across western Europe has caused widespread disruption, including power outages in France. Around 68,000 households in northwestern France lost electricity on Tuesday evening due to strained infrastructure, with over 100,000 people affected. Temperatures in Pissos, south west France, hit a scorching 44.3C on Tuesday, its hottest day ever.
