Elon Musk briefly hit a trillion-dollar fortune earlier this month but has now fallen back below that mark. His wealth, now valued at $957bn, dropped sharply because of falling shares in SpaceX and Tesla. His fortune is heavily tied to these two companies, with SpaceX making up nearly 80% of his net worth.
