Wolves beat Villa 2-0 to pass Derby points record
Bottom-placed Wolverhampton Wanderers recorded only their second Premier League win in 29 games, defeating third-placed Aston Villa 2-0 at Molineux on 27 February. Goals from Joao Gomes in the 61st minute and substitute Rodrigo Gomes deep in stoppage time took Rob Edwards' side to 13 points, moving them past Derby County's all-time Premier League record low. The result left Aston Villa at risk of falling below Manchester United into fourth place before Sunday's fixtures.
