New pill nearly doubles pancreatic cancer survival
A drug called daraxonrasib nearly doubled survival in advanced pancreatic cancer in a major trial, lifting median survival from 6.7 to 13.2 months and cutting the risk of death by 60%. It targets KRAS, a mutation behind most pancreatic tumours that scientists long called undruggable. Researchers gave the results a rare standing ovation, with US regulators already granting expanded access.
