Farage quits as MP to fight Clacton by-election
Nigel Farage has resigned as the MP for Clacton and says he will stand again in the by-election his departure now forces. The Reform UK leader stood down after weeks of pressure over undeclared donations, including funding from a convicted fraudster before his 2024 election, but insists he has done nothing wrong and has broken no law. He framed the contest as a people versus the establishment fight and accused the media of harassment.
