130 countries agree new protections for migratory wildlife
Manta rays, jaguars and migratory birds are among the species set to gain stronger protections under a new global agreement signed in Brazil. More than 130 governments agreed at the Cop15 migratory species conference to reduce bycatch, expand protections for threatened species and strengthen wildlife connectivity across borders. The deal has been described as a 'breakthrough' struck at a 'pivotal moment' for nature.
