11 police officers face inquiry after crash deaths

Families affected by a fatal Wimbledon school crash are seeking clarity three years later, as a police watchdog probes the initial inquiry. Eleven Metropolitan Police officers are being investigated, with four serving officers and one former detective constable facing potential gross misconduct. The Independent Office for Police Conduct began its inquiry in August 2025, examining if officers gave false details or if race influenced treatment.
