Debenhams owner cuts loss after big changes

Shoppers could see a business in stronger shape as the group says its revamp is improving profits despite lower reported sales. Debenhams Group, listed as Boohoo, said for the year to February its pre-tax loss fell 69 per cent to £108m while revenue dropped 25 per cent as it shifted towards a marketplace model. Dan Finley said all brands are profitable on an adjusted earnings basis and £200m of savings are targeted under the plan.
